Course Grading

Leveled proficiency assessments based on the Common Core State Standards will be given throughout each unit to check for understanding. Quizzes are graded using a 0.0-4.0 rubric.

The academic grade will be weighted according to the following percentages:

20% Practice Problems (Class Tasks/Warm-Ups/Homework)

15% Proficiency Quizzes

65% Unit Assessments

Upon completion of all assignments and self-analysis of their quiz, students may retake quizzes before/after school.

Work Habits Grading:

  • Students are assigned a work habits grade. This grade reflects the completion and effort put forth into their daily class work and homework. Students should expect practice problems to be assigned between two and three times a week.

O = Outstanding / N=Needs Improvement
S=Satisfactory / U=Unsatisfactory

Tardy/Unprepared

Students are expected to come to class on-time and be prepared to learn. Failure to be in their seat when the bell rings will result in a tardy while failure to be prepared for class with necessary resources (3 ring binder, math book, interactive notebook, pencils, red pen, paper, highlighter) will result in an unprepared (A referral will be given on the third unprepared).
