Match Race Super League, August 3rd, 2017. The Match Race Super League startedwith Match Race Germany in June intoit´sfirstyear. As thewinnerofthe 20th anniversaryeditionofthe German Grand Prix on Lake Constance overPentecost, Eric Monninandhis Albert Riele Swiss Team (25 points) areaheadofMati Sepps EstonianSaiing Team (18 points) and Max GurgelsVmax Racing (15 points) arethethree top crews in theworldrankingofthe Match Race Super League (MRSL), enteringthehot August whichiskicked off withfour additional events. Today, in onemonth, thestartinggun will befiredatthePolish classic: Sopot Match Race will beheldfrom 2. to 5. August. The AIRCALIN Match Racing Cup (12. to 15. August) will beheld in New Caledonia, the Chicago Grand Slam (18. to 20. August), theEkaterinburg Cup (16. to 21. August) andOakcliff International (30 August until 3. September).

The currentrankinglistshowshowthepointsofthe Match Race Super League areallocatedattheevents. 25 pointsareawardedtothewinnerofeachevent, 18 tothesecondand 15 tothethirdplace. The followingpointsfrom 4th till 10th will beallocated in thefollowingorder: 12,10,8,6,4,2 and 1point , inspiredbyFormulaOne. The ACI Croatia Cup andthe New Zealand Match Racing Championships will behelduntilthe Grand Final. The new Match Race Super League iscurrentlyhappeningattheright time: WhiletheAmerica's Cup World iswaitingforsignals out of New Zealand, whetherthemostimportantandoldestregatta will besailed on catamaransor in foilingmonohulls, Matchraceorganizersaroundtheglobehave united aroundtorevitalizetheduellsailingdiscipline on monohullyachtsagain. "Webelievethatthe modern sailingworldandthetruematchracing on monohullyperfectly fit together," states Match-Race-Germany organizer Eberhard Magg, "whichiswhywehaverelaunchedtheworldseries on monohullyachtsandgatheredtheappropriateorganizersunderoneroof. Catamarans on Foilsareveryspectacular, but theAmerica's Cup has also provedthathighlyimportantprestartphaseoftenlackedattractivenessand 'closecombat'.

THE MATCH RACE SUPER LEAGUE

The Match Race Super League was founded in 2017 undertheslogan "Let'smakeMatchracinggreatagain!", In ordertouniteorganizers on an international stageagainpromoting classic matchrace all overtheworld. Sanctionedbythe International Match Racing Association (MRA) andsuportedbythe World SailingSailing, theseries was launchedwiththeinaugural MRSL event: Match Race Germany in itsfirstyear. In additiontotheeighteventsofthe Match Race Super League so far, furtherevents will beaddedhopefullyduringtheyear, but surely in 2018.
