The 1952 Polk's Directory for New Rochelle shows James S Young as a teller at First National Bank of New Rochelle, but living in Mt Vernon at 10 North Avenue. The bank's address was 528 North Avenue, New Rochelle.

The bank building was built in 1925 and was known as Central National Bank (chartered June 3, 1924; Charter No. 12,548). First Westchester National Bank (New Rochelle, NY) was chartered on January 10, 1934, as First National Bank, which was the successor to The National City Bank of New Rochelle. First National Bank (New Rochelle, NY) was chartered on January 20, 1934. The National City Bank was chartered in 1899.

First Westchester absorbed Central National Bank on December 31, 1943, and merged with Bronxville Trust Co. of Bronxville on January 11, 1952 hen the name First Westchester National Bank was adopted.

The 1952 Polk's Directory show the main address as 491 Main Street, New Rochelle. The directory states that the bank also has offices in Bronxville and Fort Slocum. On January 24, 1955, First Westchester merged with Kavey & Sons (private bankers) of Port Chester.

James Senior Young

James Senior Young, 60, 8 North Tenth Avenue, until recently connected with the Brooklyn Daily Eagle as a commercial artist, died last night at the Mount Vernon Hospital, after a brief illness.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs Susan Griggs Young, his mother, Mrs. Hannah Preston Young, New Britain, CT, a son, James Senior Young, Jr., a daughter, Mrs Dorothy Young Schisler, both Mount Vernon, two grandchildren, two brothers John Young, New Britain, and Benjamin Young, Seattle, Wash., and a sister, Mrs C J Cox, Mount Vernon.

Mr Young was born in New Britain, a son of Mrs Hannah Preston Young and the late John Young. He attended the public schools in that city, and later was graduated from the Art Students' League, New York City. He was a member of Mount Vernon Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons, Malden, MA, and of Gira Grotto, Mystic Order of the Veiled Prophets of the Enchanted Realm, Mount Vernon. He played the flute and piccolo in the band connected with the latter organization.

The body is at William F Thompson's Mortuary, 11 Fourteenth Avenue, Where Masonic services will be conducted tomorrow at 8 p.m. Interment will be private.

Private services for Benjamin F Young, 91, of 3609 S Orcas St, were held today at the Ploeger-Hart chapel. Cremation followed. He died Sunday in a nursing home.

Born in new Britain, CT, Mr Young came here 45 years ago. During World War II he had worked in the shipyards. He also had owned and operated the Empire Way Tavern. He was a founding member of the Empire Way Community Club. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs Tom Moody, Renton, and a brother, John Young, of Connecticut.
