Minutes of the Parish council meeting held on Tuesday 10 January 2012 at 7:00pm in the village hall.

  1. MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON 13 DECEMBER 2011.

Cllr Cody proposed and Cllr Musgrave seconded that the minutes be signed as a true record.

  1. MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES.

Two new litterbins have been provided from WLDC. A letter of thanks is to be sent, along with a request for a further bin near the entrance to The Courtyard.

The seat in Bob Dickinson’s memory has now been placed in position outside the cemetery. His family is to be sent a letter of thanks.

  1. PLANNING.

Application No. 128078. Application for agricultural storage building, Village Farm, Marton.

This is for information only as prior approval is not required for this building.

  1. CORRESPONDENCE.

Thank you letter from Royal British Legion for donation.

Information on proposed wind farm in Hemswell.

  1. FINANCE.

  1. TRENT VALE PARTNERSHIP.

There were no items to discuss.

  1. ACCESS TO RIVER.

David Rodger from BTCV has offered to visit the site next Tuesday to offer advice. Cllr O’Kane will meet him there.

The quotes to do the work were discussed. Cllr Cawthorne proposed and Cllr Worrell seconded, and it was agreed, that the quote from DWG Groundcare be accepted and that the work should be commenced at their earliest convenience.

  1. TRAVELLERS’ EVENT.

All the councillors have been provided with a copy of the notes taken at the Multi-agency meeting held in October 2011. There was discussion about what was said at that meeting. A further multi- agency meeting is to take place and Lyn Marlow from WLDC is to be contacted to find out if a date has yet been arranged.

Cllr Stuart Kinch is to be invited to the next Parish Council meeting to discuss the matter and to make him aware of the strength of feeling amongst parishioners.

  1. LAPTOP.

WLDC has been contacted to see if any help can be given with a laptop or software. They cannot help with these, but can help with the provision of Wi-Fi connection in the village hall. Further information is to be sought to find out if there would be any ongoing cost to the Parish Council.

The specifications of a laptop were discussed and it was agreed that the Clerk purchase one.

  1. VILLAGE HALL ROOF.

Some ridge tiles are missing from the roof and it is leaking in several places. The Village Hall Committee has applied for a grant but a decision may take a few months. There are no current quotes for the repairs. The Parish Council is willing to help with the cost and it was agreed to wait to see what shortfall in funds there will be after a grant has been approved.

  1. ANY OTHER BUSINESS.

Travis Bland has been bought a trampoline that is located in the car park, with the canvas removed. Barrier tape has been placed around it to show it is not for public use.

The Environment Agency is doing work near the river down Littleborough Lane. The road is in a bad state at the moment and the Environment Agency is to be contacted to request that they leave it in good condition.

A meeting about funding for local communities is to be held on 26 January at Glentham Village Hall. Cllr Musgrave is to attend.

  1. DATE AND TIME OF NEXT MEETING.

The next meeting is to be held on Tuesday 7 February at 7:00pm in the village hall.

The meeting closed at 8:15pm.
