Marshdale Elementary Giving Campaign 2017-2018
Dear Families and Friends,
We start our annual giving drive this year with the 3rd Annual Mustang Trot Fun Run Event, which will take place on October 6, 2017. Each year we use this event to help teach the children about our goals for their school and to expose them to healthy activities to kick the year off right.
Did you know?
Marshdale Elementary has several academic traditions that are not covered by state dollars. The PTA and the community work together each year to raise funds above and beyond the state funding to make sure our students have updated learning resources, technology, and memorable events.
Last year, the students helped raise funds to buy a new playground that is now used and loved by Marshdale students as well as families across the community. We also made a great start at our 1:1 technology goals at last year’s Spring Auction. A huge thank you to our past donors!
This year, we continue raising funds to update school technology so all students can have effective, equitable computers and tablets for increased learning at their individual level. We will also donate 10% of Trot funds to hurricane relief efforts in Texas.
The bottom line is that we want to give our students the best experience, enrichment, and education that we can. Every contribution makes a difference no matter how large or small. With the support of our amazing Marshdale families, we can bridge the gap between what the state pays for and the actual cost to deliver an outstanding education.
How do Student Raise Funds?
Marshdale students are encouraged to ask friends and family to sponsor them for the Mustang Trot. The students tell folks what they love about their school and promise to run as many laps as they can during the Trot.
Students are encouraged to be creative in their fundraising. Draw pictures, call family members in and outside of Colorado, create short iPhone videos, or use FaceTime. Students could maybe even do chores to earn sponsorships or use their own money to donate.
Why Give 10% of The Funds Away?
We feel connected to learning communities every where, and we want our students to know how important it is to give when people need us. The PTA will donate 10% of funds to those devastated by Hurricane Harvey. A group of Marshdale leadership students will be actively engaged to work with school staff to find the best way to share these funds. We hope our children will see that community reaches further than we can see.
