Geraldine W. Ball
Sept. 24, 1926 ~ April 1, 2011
Geraldine W. Stewart was born Sept. 24th, 1926, to Pete and Snowdy France in a very small home in Wright City, Mo. The eldest daughter of eight brothers and sisters, she grew up fast, helping out with her younger siblings and assisting her mother with the household chores. With an unending love for her family, she not only helped to raise each and every one of her siblings, but she took care of them even later in life when they needed her most.
Although in her very last moments she was tired, Geraldine was untiring in life. Raising her baby brothers along with her son, she put them through school and then watched proudly as they enlisted in the military. She later gained a daughter-in-law that she loved as her own, and was blessed with five grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. In truth, there was an unending amount of loved ones who called her ‘Grandma’. Grandma loved fishing, gardening, nursing, and spending time with her family and friends.
A pillar and a rock to everyone around her, she had the hardship of burying her mother, father, brothers, sisters, great-grandchild and her beloved son. But she never let that hinder her sense of humor, love of life, nor her everlasting need to help. She lived out her days in Kansas surrounded by family and friends. Living to the age of 84, she had a long life. But to those who she left behind, 84 years was not long enough.
Survivors include: five grandchildren, Norman Ball (Diana) of Wright City, MO, Shoncia Keough of Galva, KS, Dianna Ball of Middleton, WI, Montee Ball (Melissa) of Middleton, WI, and Christopher Ball (Robin) of Wright City, MO; and 14 great-grandchildren.
MISS ME, BUT LET ME GO
When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little, but not too long
And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love that we once shared
MISS ME - BUT LET ME GO
For this is a journey that we all must take
And each must go alone
It’s all a part of the Master’s plan
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds
MISS ME - BUT LET ME GO.
In Loving Memory
