I. SLOARC’s mission statement and responsibilities were reviewed. Some changes were made. Joyce Wagner will be sending out said changes in the form of an email. A vote will then take place and the recommendations will be sent to CIC.
II. Alex T. and Caroline D. gave us an update on the “statement” that was sent to Senate. The statement was approved and flowed through smoothly. We congratulated ourselves on completing the statement and on creating a timely, useful and concise document.
III. Mary Walker reported on the SSTF document and what it contains. We discussed the relevancy of the document in terms of SLOs and assessment.
IV. Following the discussion of SSTF’s document, we discussed some course SLOs that have come from the Cal State, C-ID project. We discussed the current movement towards standardization and centralization. WE discussed how the new SLOs for a few courses are similar and dissimilar to ours.
V. Marcelo P. distributed a Xeroxed PowerPoint slide-show re. achievement of the “proficiency” standard according to ACCJC Accred. Standards. We will return on Nov 3rd to discuss this document and the various ACCJC Standards which it addresses.
