Scholarship

The Marengo Woman’s Club announces its 2011 scholarship for financial aid for post high school education. Applicants must be a member of the current graduating class and a resident of the Marengo Community High School District #154. The Marengo Woman’s Club Scholarship in the amount of $1000. will be awarded at Honor’s Night in May.

The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage young people to continue their education. The qualifications are:

  • A high school graduating senior and a resident of District #154
  • A genuine need for economic assistance
  • A well defined purpose for continuing education
  • Accepted for entrance by a fully accredited institution, although not necessarily a four year college

Application forms are available from the Marengo Community High School Guidance Department and from Marian Central High School Guidance Department, Woodstock, IL.

A recent photograph and transcript are required to be submitted with the application.

The scholarship winner will be selected based on information from the application by the MWC Scholarship Committee. The recipient will be announced at the high school’s Honors Night ceremony. Upon proof of college registration the Club’s Treasurer will distribute the scholarship funds.

Deadline for returning the application to the High School Guidance Department is April 11, 2011.
