Essential attributes / Desirable attributesQualifications and general experience /
- Qualified to degree level
- Qualified teacher status
- Evidence of commitment to further professional training
- At least 5 years school teaching experience, including recent experience in a Senior- or Middle-leadership position
- Has taught across at least 2 Key Stages
- Satisfactory Enhanced Disclosures and Barring Service Disclosure
- Leadership experience
- Has higher level Safeguarding training (DDSP and/or Safer Recruitment)
Professional knowledge and experience /
- Understanding of challenges involved in leadership and management in a primary school
- Up-to-date understanding of the foundation stage and primary curriculum and assessment
- Involvement in school development planning, including implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Teaching and Learning
- Evidence of working innovatively – being forward thinking – in relation to teaching and learning
- Ability to use data as a school improvement tool
- SEND experience
- Experience of working with governors
- Experience of undertaking performance management
- Experience of working with school budgets
- Experience of premises management and working with contractors
Professional skills /
- Commitment to the safeguarding of children, including up-to-date knowledge of Child Protection procedures
- Evidence of a high standard of classroom practice
- Ability to maintain high standards of pupil behaviour both within the classroom and in general areas of the school and beyond
