Myanmar’s 2ndWomen’s Leadership Development Retreat: 26-30 April 2015

In Myanmar’s new era of growing international engagement and rapid change, women’s representation in senior positions in the private and public sectors remain limited. Mango Media, in collaboration with the Human Resource Development Department of UMFCCI, aim to promote leadership development and foster exchange among Myanmar and International women.

Following the successful first session in March 2014, thissecondsession, on26-30April 2015atthe Royal Kaytumadi Hotel in Taunggu, Bago Division, is now open for registration. Companies and International Organizations are invited to sponsor women inmiddle level or senior leadership positions, ideally in the age bracket of 30-55 years. The course for Myanmar and International participants will be conducted in Myanmar and English.

The retreat will offer training by an international women’s leadership facilitator, Daw Khin-Sandi Lwin,UNICEF Representative for the Eastern Caribbean Area and supported by Daw Aye Hnin Swe, Managing Director of Mango Media and Mangosteen PR. The facilitators are providing this unique training opportunity on a pro bono basis, blending their international and Myanmar experiences.

The four-day retreat covers:

1. Understanding oneself: Only with deeper self-understanding, can we better chart our future path.

2. Awareness of the social and work environment: Gender roles and relationship patterns are central to understanding ourselves and the general behavior of those we interact with.

3. Leadership Qualities and Requirements: Identifying competencies or traits for effective leadership in the Myanmar and International contexts.

4. Approaches for personal growth: The course culminates with an introduction to different ways one can work on to develop these capabilities.

Registration fees of:

- Myanmar national: Kyat 5,36,000

- International: US$ 556

are payable at Mango Media by Friday 3rd April at the latest. The fees will cover four nights’ accommodation on full meal plan, course materials and transport from Yangon to Taunggu and return. As only 14 participants can be accepted, space is available on a first come first serve basis upon full payment of fees.

Departure from Yangon will be the morning of Sunday 26th April, with return to Yangon by the evening of Thursday 30th April. For more details, , or
