Group/Team Structure:
- TLT has a market leading Corporate Recovery and Insolvency (CRI) Team based primarily in its Bristol office. In October 2006, James Forsyth was recruited from Denton Wilde Sapte to build an insolvency presence in London. This has proved very successful and we want to build further on that success.
TLT's CRI core team draws on experience from partners/solicitors in other disciplines who have experience in dealing with insolvency law and practice.
Current team structure is three partners (Philip May and Peter Carney in Bristol, James Forsyth splitting time between Bristol and London), two Bristol associates, three Bristol assistants (from September 2009) a Bristol trainee and a part time consultant (London). Banking support work for the team is undertaken in London.
We have a full-service insolvency and turnaround practice. Principal work providers are banks (Barclays, Lloyds TSB, Bank Of Ireland, AIB) all the major firms of insolvency practitioners in London and Bristol, the Insolvency Service and other clients of the firm.
2009/10 budget for the core insolvency teams is £1.3m although we generate significant amounts of work for other departments, notably real estate and banking. The partners in the team are all leaders in their field in Chambers 2009.
We win business by our presence on the relevant bank panels, relationships with banks and insolvency practitioners, reciprocity, reputation and service delivery.
The Role:
This is an excellent opportunity to help build on the firm's relatively new insolvency base in London. The candidate will be required to build on the firm's established strong relationships with the Barclays Business Support team at Canary Wharf and look to capitalise on our recent appointment to the Lloyds TSB business support panel.
The successful candidate will need to be capable of working autonomously although full support will always be available.
The ideal candidate:
Enthusiastic, dynamic and able to recognise the opportunity that this offers, the ideal candidate will need to have excellent academics and experience of undertaking the full range of contentious and non-contentious insolvency work for insolvency practitioners and banks in London. Particular experience will be required in the appointment of and acting for administrators.
Excellent business development skills will be vital together with a good understanding of the London insolvency market and the key players who operate within it.
The candidate will also need to be able to work as a team with the other CRI team members in Bristol.
Our Research shows that our clients and our employees would describe us as: energetic, entrepreneurial driven.
