Position Objective
The successful candidate will be:
  • Part of a Supply Chain Graduate development programme,which is designed to focus on the key non-Technical functions within the business. It will be to develop the next generation of business leaders for GDLS.
  • Part of the GDLS graduate development programme, which will provide interpersonal and team working related training courses to develop skills that are fundamental to the Business.

Summary of Supply Chain Graduate

/ The successful candidate will be integrated into a multi-disciplined team learning about the various projects and business units, carrying out research and presenting findings to the senior management teams of the business units.
The successful candidate will be:
  • Encouraged to obtain formal qualifications, appropriate to their substantive role to support career progression.
  • Prioritise delivery of materials with suppliers to ensure sufficient supply is available
  • Place PO’s for Strategic Operations team through MRP and Oracle Systems
  • Work with SCM Strategic Operations and Strategic Sourcing team to help develop relationships with the suppliers over the long term
  • Support the Demand and Inventory SCM team, to ensure accuracy of material flow and its availability.
  • Support the SCM OPEX team to ensure appropriate process and procedures are in place, for all SCM employees to adhere to.
  • Developed to take responsibility for the day-to-day responsibilities and tasks provided.
  • Mentored and coached by SCM Leadership team to help develop understanding and increase skills sets within the SCM function.

Supply Chain / The successful candidate will be developed to understand the end to end supply chain along with the functional requirements of supply chain as a service to the business organisation, and to take responsibility for:
  • Forecasting and Demand planning – ensuring supply matches the demand for the customers
  • Procurement – negotiating and buying raw materials
  • Subcontracts Management - consistency in managing subcontracts across functions, to mitigate risk to the increase profitably.
  • Logistics – distribution and warehousing
  • Defining expectations across procurement and program management personnel
