Manager, Corporate Fundraising

Job Profile:

The overall purpose of the role is to identify and secure new corporate partnership opportunities, whilst simultaneously maintaining and developing support from existing supporters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a resilient corporate fundraising strategy that allows for the successful securing of funds and sponsorship agreements.
  • Work independently and use initiative to make decisions related to corporate fundraising, and ensure that a high quality of service is provided at all times.
  • Develop and sustain relationships with corporate contacts, including guidance and cultivation activities for contacts.
  • Facilitate and oversee the transition of secured partnerships from new business to account management.
  • Work closely with corporate partners to understand their objectives and identify opportunities to develop relationship further and maximise income potential.
  • Create an active pipeline of new prospects that allow for the successful management of long terms support.
  • The post holder will manage and procure relationships with current accounts in order to extend support in future years, through the deliverance of effective management strategies with all existing corporate partners.
  • Co-ordinate all fundraising and engagement activities in line with objectives and targets.
  • Work with the challenge events team to ensure opportunities for engagement are being offered as part of the mix.
  • The post holder will also be expected to co-ordinate with the Corporate and Development team in New York.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • To be pro-active in keeping abreast of industry developments and relevant laws. Undertake training as necessary.
  • To handle queries via Smile Train’s fulfilment agency Mosaic as requested by the Director of Fundraising.
  • To support and contribute to the wider objectives of the UK Fundraising Team and to manage other projects as required by the Director of Fundraising.
  • To liaise with external agencies, as and when required.
  • To attend and actively contribute to UK Fundraising Team and other meetings which may be held away from the office.
  • To represent the UK Fundraising Team at meetings with external agencies as appropriate.
  • To undertake any other activity reasonably requested by the Director of Fundraising.

Personal Specifications

In order to be successful, the post holder must be confident and able to work autonomously - he or she must be proactive, with a strategic mind-set and the ability to actively engage with a variety of peoples. A strong knowledge, and experience, of new business within the corporate sector and demonstrable experience of securing new clients is key.

Essential

  • Previous experience working within a fundraising organisation.
  • A target focused approach.
  • Thorough knowledge of the corporate sector, CSR issues and practices.
  • Experience of delivering and securing high level, multi-year pitches at a certain income level.
  • Able to develop attractive presentations unique to Smile Train that successfully interest new donors.
  • Significant experience of corporate fundraising, with a discernible ability to attain funds through a donor relationship.
  • Management and development of donor relationships.
  • Grasp of fundraising principles and practices.
  • Strong communication skills, be it through written communication, oral presentations or public speaking.

Desirable

  • Experience working with/for international charities or agencies.
  • Flexible approach to work.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering significant growth within a fundraising team and establishing successful new fundraising products and systems.
  • Willingness to travel overseas when required.

£27k – £30k (dependant on experience)
