Tamilnad Mercantile Bank launches “Internet Banking Service”

Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Ltd, a Leading Old Private Sector Bank has achieved another milestone in its bank history by launching Internet Banking Service namely “TMB E-connect” to provide the internet banking facility to their valuable customers. The Launching Ceremony of TMB E-connect-Internet Banking is held on 19.11.2008 at 11.00 A.M in Hotel Savera, 146, Dr.Radhakrishnan Salai, Chennai in a grand manner. The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank Shri.G.Narayana Moorthy presided over the “TMB E-connect” Internet Banking Service Launching Ceremony.

The TMB E-Connect Internet Banking Service was launched by Shri.M.Haragopal, Vice President- Finacle of M/s.Infosys Technology Ltd, Bangalore in the august presence of Shri.H.Krishnamurthy, Principal Research Scientist of Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, Managing Director & CEO, Board of Directors, Executives, other dignitaries and the valued customers of the Bank. Shri.H.Krishnamurthy, Principal Research Scientist, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore has given a Special Address on Technology Benefits in Banking Business.

Shri.G.Narayanamoorthy, MD & CEO of the Bank said that In order to attract User Public and also retain existing customers through advanced technology, the Bank started to provide Internet Banking facility. The Customers can use the Internet Banking Facility on 24 x 7 basis. There is no registration charge for availing internet banking facility to their Bank Customers. The upgraded technology and improved service delivery capabilities will assist the bank to increase its CASA Deposits, Retail Credit Assets and also improve its new diversified service offerings.

About the Internet Banking Service-TMB E-connect, the following are the superlative advantages for availing the same to our bank customers.

v  The customers are allowed to view the account details by sitting in their home itself. There is no need for the customers to contact the branch or walk into the branch for any details about their accounts.

v  All the operative accounts, Term Deposit accounts and Loan accounts are available in the internet banking based on their mode of operation submitted by them during the account opening.

v  The current available balance in all their accounts can be viewed in internet banking facility.

v  The tax deducted at source for the term deposit accounts can also be viewed in the internet banking facility.

v  The deposit maturity dates as well as the loan repayment schedules are available in the internet banking itself.

v  The customers can generate transactions from their home itself. The customers can effect their own/self transfers, transfer to any third party having account with TMB

v  Throughout the clock ie 24 X 7 basis, the customers can generate the transactions.

v  If the customers want to generate any particular transaction for any future date, they can do the same by using the scheduled transfer option. On the scheduled date, the transaction will take place in their accounts.

v  In Internet banking, the customers can generate account statements for any month as well as year. They can also generate mini statement for any particular account which contains the last 5 transactions. There is no charge for generating the account statement.

v  The customers can check the status of their cheques. If they want to mark stop payment for the cheque before the instrument is presented in the clearing, they can mark stop payment in internet banking facility itself. Only very nominal charges will be charged.

v  By using the internet banking facility, the customers need not walk into the branch for major transactions. Only for Demand Draft issue and new accounts opening, they have to contact their branch. The customers can use the internet banking facility on 24 X 7 basis.

The Bank is also in the process of customizing the e-banking software for making telephone payments by the customer from their home itself. The tie up arrangement with M/s Bill Desk is in process.
