JOB TITLE: Technical Officer – Supply Chain
BAND: 5
DEPARTMENT: Technical Services
REPORTS TO: QA Manager, Supply Chain
DEPUTISATION: Other Technical Officer / QA Manager Supply Chain
LOCATION: Craigavon or Grantham
  1. JOB PURPOSE

To provide knowledgeable, technical administrative support for the Technical Supply Chain function, ensuring clear communication of reference documents, and clear trending and reporting of supplier performance.
  1. RESPONSIBILITIES

No budgetary responsibility, but should have an awareness of financial impact of own actions.

3.3ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE / REPORTING LINE



  1. DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain supporting information for supplier approval and assurance, and associated logs
  • Co-ordinate the intake sampling schedules
  • Produce routine reports from intake check data requiring collation and interrogation of data from a number of sources (spreadsheets, ERP system, Qlikview)
  • Provide first point of contact for non-conformance reporting, and communication with suppliers
  • Provide technical support for meat intake teams
  • Produce reports and presentations when requested
  • Undertake project work as allocated to drive improvement
  • Able to step in to support other areas within Technical Supply Chain
  • Occasional travel to support internal sites / suppliers
  • Provide administrative support for Technical Supply Chain
  • To work in a manner that actively seeks to reduce any negative environmental impact in relation to the processes and procedures operating within their area and across the wider business e.g. reduction of waste, recycling etc.

Essential / Desirable
  • 3rd level education, Food or science related subject or previous experience in a similar role
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills through cross – functional teams and departments.
  • Shows initiative, self-motivated, assertive, tenacious, well organised, influencing skills.
  • Team worker.
  • Customer focussed approach.
  • Problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Good Computer Skills, particularly Word / Excel
  • Willing and able to travel to other sites.

  • Previous experience in food manufacturing
  • Poultry experience
  • Knowledge & experience of HACCP, BRC Standards, Food Legislation, Food Hygiene.
  • Food Hygiene qualifications
  • Language skills – French / Portuguese
