MAGA 2013 Fall Member Meeting Minutes
September 15, 2013 ~ 11:00 am
Creeksbend Golf Course - New Prague, MN
I. Call to Order – Joel 11:01am
II. Roll Call – taken by introductions via clubs and if you were hosting a large invite this season. Most present.
III. Board Positions ~ New Term
A. Vice President – Megan from River Falls nominated Dianne Dietrich/Premier Complex to be our new VP.
Dianne accepted the nomination. Members voted unanimously.
B. Secretary – Janet Winter accepted the next term.
C. Membership Director – Jon Jansen nominated Cassie Townsend/Kenwood Gymnastics
Cassie accepted the nomination. Members voted unanimously.
D. Member at Large – Tammy Handevidt accepted the next term.
IV. Treasures Report – 17, 738.58 – state trophies, scholarships & today’s meal.
V. Old Business
A. MAGA Rule Clarification ~ see website. Rules have not been retyped since 2009. Adaptations are added each year they arise and posted on the website but the rules page should be cleaned up. Discussion was tabled to spring/summer meeting to delegate this task.
B. “Score Flippers” at Division Meets ~ great reviews
Doug will discuss with Justin/Score Flippers to clarify the expense the association will pay for is the scoring, meals and hotel accommodation up to $600. Any additions need to be considered an expense that the host site can choose to use at the host sites expense.
C. 2013 Divisional Weekends – great job, excellent reviews, HUGE Thank You

D. Touch Warm ups at Divisional Meets
· Jon Jansen/MAGS made a motion to have a 3 minute touch at all the divisional meets. Kobi Belgaard/Delano second.
· Vote passed unanimously
*We will revisit this next fall to discuss if we keep it or make adaptations to the rule.
E. Welcome New Teams/Coaches ~ Contact Info, Rules and Policies

F. Other
· Music – It has been brought to the associations’ attention that you could be visited by ASCAP or another a music industry “police” type company that has employees travels around the world making sure people who use music in public settings are paying appropriate licensing fees to use it.
· This was backed up by a few members who have already been visited and they shared what happened.
· The Minnesota State High School Coaches Associations coaches clinic is being held on October 3 & 4th at Park Cottage Center. For more information and to register you can visit the website at MSHSCA.com
