-  East Camp – Iroquois Site – very shady (and buggy)

-  Transportation to and from MSR

-  Day 1 (Sunday) Schedule (+ swim test) – pack a lunch for the car

-  Handout sheet coming (camp address, Leader’s guide, websites)

-  Dress code – Formal – flags; breakfast & dinner – Class A + Neckerchief

-  Upcoming Deadlines & Camporships

-  Packing (what not to bring)

-  1.Items prohibited by BSA policy (fireworks, firearms of any kind, etc.)

-  2.Items prohibited by your unit’s leadership

-  3.Electronic items (consult your troop policy for specifics)

-  4.Items of significant monetary or sentimental value: If it got lost or broken, would you be upset? If so, leave it at home.

-  5.If you are unsure whether something is appropriate to take to camp, leave it at home. Or, please ask your scoutmaster

-  6. No snacks – no food in tents due to animals

-  Packing (Day Bag – Be Prepared) put your name on things

-  Rain

-  Bugs – repellent or netting or Thermo Cell (ticks + ‘skeeters)

-  Sunscreen

-  Hat

-  Sunglasses

-  Water Bottle

-  Books (merit badges) – take a Xerox copy of your handbook

-  Paper (notebook) & Pencil(s) or Pen(s)

-  Knife (if you have totem chip)

-  Flashlight (extra batteries?)

-  Minor First Aid (band aids, blisters)

-  Camp towel?

-  Cary a change of shirt for programs

-  Carry just what you need (gets too heavy / hot)

-  When you get home unpack outside – dirt & bugs

-  Emergency medications (epi pens or asthma inhalers)

-  How is summer camp different from a “typical Troop 96” weekend

-  No cooking

-  No mess kits

-  No tents

-  Sleep on cots
