The purpose of these rules is to ensure that all members can enjoy playing competitive football in a fair and respectable environment and in the spirit of friendship.

Rules and Regulations.

As the Team Player/Manager you are agreeing to the below Rules and Regulations of Lycamobile Premier League operated by LYCA FA.

It is the responsibility of the Manager to be the Primary Contact for the team and all players involved. By allowing a player to take part in a fixture you are confirming that a player is aware of the Rules and Regulations below and will abide by these rules.

  1. Game Rules & Game Disciplinary Action.
  2. It will be intended that each game is refereed by an Independent Referee. In the absence of a Referee it will be for the teams playing on the day to decide if they wish to proceed or appoint a mutually agreed person to Referee the respective game. They will also have the opportunity to reschedule the game if possible.
  1. The Referee’s decisions will be final.
  1. Penalties are one step penalties. The taker is free to step forward, placing his standing foot, before striking the ball with the other.
  1. If the ball hits the basketball backboard, goes behind the goal orgoes behind the basketball backboard,a goal kick will be given.
  1. Players should be wearing appropriate sporting attire for their own safety, which includes the compulsory use of shin pads and forbids the use of studded boots.
  1. Substitutes are roll on/roll off. At no point during the game should there be more than 6 players of the same team on the pitch.
  1. Back passes to the keeper are allowed. The keeper can only handle the ball inside his designated area.
  1. When a goal is scored, play is restarted from the centre spot by the team who conceded the goal.
  1. Players can score from free kicks. Opposition players must be 3 yards away from free kicks and corners.
  1. Kicking the ball away is not permitted to gain extra time and such actions will be penalised.
  1. Verbal or Physical Abuse is not tolerated on or off the pitch by players or spectators. It is a team’s responsibility to control the behaviour of its own players and the spectators that it brings to the game, and will be held to account for their behaviour.
  1. Yellow cards will be shown for foul play (which includes a repetition of smaller offenses), inappropriate behaviour including dissent and any other offense which the referee considers detrimental to the spirit of the game. Two yellow cards in one game will result in a red card. This player will then leave the field and his team must continue with one less player. If a player receives a straight red card, regardless of whether he has already received a yellow card or not, he will leave the field, his team will continue with one less player, and the player will miss one further game.
  1. Red cards given for Violent Conductmay well be followed by anextended match ban or expulsion from the competition.
  1. Please remember we give our referees/match officials full authority to interpret the above rules and general laws of the game as they see fit, and decisions they make on the day will always stand. Please respect their decisions as they all try to act fairly and to the best of their abilities.
  1. LYCA FA reserves the right to remove any player or teams without reason.
  1. LYCA FA reserves the right to amend and alter the above Rules and Regulations at any given point.
  1. Team Registration / Player Membership & Transfers
  2. When a team joins the LYCA Premier League, they are committing to the duration of one entire season.
  1. Each team must appoint a Captain and Vice-Captain. The Captain will be responsible for his team’s attendance and charges.
  1. Leaving Procedure:-
  2. To withdraw from the league the Team Captain MUST give at least two weeks’ notice before the end of the current season.
  3. The team must then fulfil the remainder of that season's fixtures, and shall be withdrawn before the new season commences.
  4. Any team that leaves the league without the two weeks’ notice or before the end of a season will still be chargeable for all outstanding fixtures. If a team is removed for bad behaviour or disciplinary reasons, the team will still be liable for match fees.
  5. Any team that leaves with monies owed, it will be the responsibility of the Team Captainto have these arrears collected, or they will be collected by an appointed person.
  1. Team Managers and all players must be over the age of 18 and MUST be employees of the Lycatel group or its contractor’s employees.
  1. Each Team must have at least 9 and no more than 15 registered players to be able to compete in the league.
  1. Each Team must submit their full list of registered players to the Lyca FA before the League opens, last registry of the players is the day before the announced first game date.
  1. Cancellations
  2. Cancellations must be notified to Lyca FA at least one week before the game in question.
  1. In the event that a team cancels a game, they will still be held liable for the charges associated with hiring the pitch and the match official.
  1. If cancellation is permitted due to unforeseen circumstances the LycaFA will attempt to reschedule the match, however if this is not possible then the team who cancelled will have to concede 3points with a default 3-0 score line and will still be liable for the match expenses.
  1. If your fixture is cancelled due to the other team’s unavailability, all efforts we will be made to arrange a friendly for your team. In such an event the playing teams will still need to pay their share of the match fee.
  1. An automatic win of any sort is 3 points with a 3-0 score line.
  1. We may contact you via email or SMS to inform you about match cancellations, changes to fixtures, rule changes, match fee changes or other matters relating to the league and outstanding balances.
  1. Costs / Charges (Match Fee: £35 per team)
  1. Each team must pay £35 to cover Match Day expenses.
  1. This includes the cost of the pitch hire and the attendance of the match official refereeing the game.
  1. Any team which cancels is liable to pay £70 to cover the cost of the Match Day expenses.
  1. Match fees must be paid in before the day of the fixture.
  1. League Rules
  2. When a team is entered into the league, the fixtures will be published on the website and you will be notified by e-mail of the fixtures.
  1. The competition shall be played on a league basis and shall consist of several teams playing either once a week or fortnightly depending upon their fixtures, at either 7pm or 8pm on Thursdays. Teams shall play each other twice.
  1. 3 points shall be awarded for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss.
  1. Fixtures shall be created by the Lyca FA.
  1. The Lyca FA will not be held liable for any injury, loss or damage which affects your personal circumstances. Please ensure that you arrange for your own Personal and Financial Insurance.
  1. Lyca FA will not be held liable for loss of income/earnings as a result of playing in the Lyca premier league and its association with Lycamobile as a company is purely aesthetic in that this is an organisation funded and organised purely by its employees and with no direct assistance from the company itself.
  1. Players Registration / Transfers
  2. Please ensure that everyone in your team knows what colours to wear. Lyca FA will provide bibs on league nights should they be necessary but these bibs come in one colour only and so rely on teams having predominantly different kits.
  1. Teams are asked to supply their own balls for their respective games.
  1. Player Transfer
  1. Once a player has made an official league appearance for a particular team, he has pledged himself to that team for the duration of the season. Exceptional circumstances in regards to emergency transfers may be granted by the Lyca committee, but in this case the transfer would be permanent for the remainder of the season.
  1. A player that has not made a single official league appearance for any team is considered to be a ‘free agent’ and may be signed at any point during the season for the remainder of that season.
