LU:Energy – Energy Medals
Invitation for Nominations
Energy Research at Loughborough
Energy Research at Loughborough is world-class and one of the largest concentrations of academic endeavour in the UK. Research is theoretical, fundamental and applied and draws together scientists, engineers, social scientists and economists from across many Schools and Departments.
Research spans the generation, supply and demand for energy and includes the invention and improvement of new and renewable energy technologies; the efficient and flexible generation of power; nuclear energy and waste; electrical and thermal energy storage; the efficiency of conventional transport systems; transport and travel; energy and behaviour; and end-use energy demand in buildings and for travel.
Energy research on this scale would not be possible without the dedication and hard work of colleagues at all levels, support staff, postgraduate students, RAs, early-career and established researchers, and professors.
The Energy Medals
The Energy Medals celebrate the best of energy research at Loughborough, rewarding individuals and groups and recognising those that have inspired and supported them. We want to engender pride in Loughborough’s energy research and to showcase what has been achieved across the University and beyond.
The award categories aim to highlight and reward practices and behaviours that exemplify excellence, either through the achievement of tangible outcomes or by enabling such outcomes. There are awards for people at all career stages and for energy research of all types.
Energy Medals will be awarded in four categories
