LRHS Task Analysis

The student must complete this form with the potential mentor giving input.

1. Goal Setting: List two to four goals the student should plan to achieve while completing this project.

Mentor Qualification and Senior Responsibilities

Mentor’s Qualifications and Responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • Be over 21 years of age
  • NOT a former Lost River HS student who failed to graduate or meet their senior project requirements.
  • NOT related to or be the boyfriend/girlfriend of the senior
  • NOT the employer or a co-worker of the student
  • NOT a teacher at LostRiver (Administration can approve this under extreme circumstances)
  • NOT a family friend
  • Be knowledgeable about the senior’s physical project
  • Have adequate time to devote to mentoring the student

Responsibilities:

  • Be available to meet with student and give him/her information, feedback, and/or advice in the preparation of the following:
  • The Project Proposal
  • Task Analysis and interview
  • Final Evaluation and Time Log
  • Aid senior as requested with the physical project (Mentor must review the project at least three times as it progresses and moves towards completion)
  • Complete final evaluation according to the timeline for the project (see page____)

A mentor is not responsible for:

  • Contacting the senior to remind him/her to work on or finish the project
  • Informing student of deadlines or timeline
  • Paying for any part of the project (material, travel, hours, etc)
  • For completing any part of the project for the senior

Senior’s Responsibilities to Mentor:

  • Contact the mentor and work with him/her
  • Update mentor on progress of the project
  • Fulfill periodic responsibilities of meeting with the mentor and reporting progress and results of the meetings
  • Be flexible in the times to meet with the mentor (work around their schedule)
  • Work to establish a calendar of meeting dates and times
