The meeting was held at the MUWHogarthStudentCenter, hosted by the MUW Police Department, andcalled to order by Ken Dyer, Chairman of LEPC.

Reviewed minutes from last meeting held onNovember 17, 2004. No changes noted and the minutes were accepted as written with copies available at the meeting.
Reviewed old business with reports on progress:
Shelter-in-place Information
-Received MEMA grant for monies to mail brochures.
Homeland Security Update
-A wish list of items has been developed for use of the budgeted $400,000.
New Business covered in the meeting:
Reminder of SARA Tier II Reporting Requirements
-SARA 312 reporting required by March 1, 2005 to LEPC
-Submittal should be made through use of Tier II Submit software found on the LEPC web page (especially large businesses who report many chemicals)
-When submittal is made using Tier II Submit, a confirmation is sent to the reporting facility of successful input.
-Motion was made and seconded to send letters to LEPC contacts for using this submittal method. Petroleum distributors will be asked to submit Tier II information if there have been any changes in the last 3 years (since LEPC manual updated). City information is available but some information is needed from the county.
-Reminder was given that agency information needs to be updated in the Columbus/Lowndes Emergency Response Plan.
Elected new officers for the year:
-Tim Groman nominated for Chairman, accepted the nomination, elected by acclimation. (Ken Dyer was nominated for Chairman, declined, nomination rescinded).
-Cindy Lawrence nominated for Vice-chairman, Nick Hairston accepted the nomination for Cindy, elected by acclimation.
-Susie Andrews nominated for Secretary, accepted the nomination, elected by acclimation.
Update on Fire Coordinator position given by Nick Hairston:
-Plans are to advertise for an experienced Lowndes County Fire Coordinator.
Thanks and appreciation given to Ken Dyer for having served as Chairman this past year.
Thanks given to Chief Sellers for providing the wonderful meeting facilities.
