Kentucky youth participate in many different activities at 4-H summer camp.

They can catch everything from butterflies to fish; take nature hikes and identify trees and critters along the way; learn to swim; use a canoe, rifle and bow and arrow; create crafts; participate in challenge courses and relay games; share songs and dances; make new friends and, of course, have fun.

Resident 4-H camps are open to all Kentucky youth, ages nine through 14. Groups of youth from every county will attend one of the four resident camps during the nine- to 10-week summer season.

Youth develop inquiring minds, an eagerness to learn, an ability to apply science and technology. They learn practical skills, develop competencies and acquire knowledge in such areas as citizenship, communication, self-expression, leadership, personal standards and concern for community involvement. Campers also strengthen their abilities to make decisions, solve problems, manage their own lives and develop interpersonal relationships with adults and other youth.

In addition to the traditional 4-H camp activities, the (CountyName) 4-H Youth Development program develops new and innovative classes and activities. Our youth will (list locally planned activities here.)
