All students attending Lookout Valley High School during the 2017-2018 school year are required to read at least one novel during the summer. Please note that if your student receives a letter within the first month of the summer concerning enrollment in the Honors English courses, then he or she needs to follow the directions specified below.
Summer reading novels will be evaluated during the first two weeks of school (both a scantron and a written assessment). Students who are new will be allowed to read a selection during the first two weeks of school.
NOTE—Lookout Valley High School’s summer reading list is different from Hamilton County’s. Please make
sure that the title chosen is on the appropriate list. In addition, all students enrolled in English Honors
courses are required to read more than one novel – see each grade level list for further details.
