Young Labour Funding

MM restated desire for consensual approach to committee, letter has been delayed until now.

LM asked what was the issue with the letter? It was meant to lobby NEC reps to call for better funding and it would be great if LYL could sign.

Discussion then followed around the tone and content of the letter. Some committee members felt that there was no background to the letter when presented at the last minute and that proper consultation is needed before a decision is made.

Other members could not see the issue with the present letter and that a strong stance is needed to ensure fair funding of Young Labour.

Whole committee agreed with the general principle of the letter and the need for concensus

JPh proposed an amendment which was accepted 12-4.

Committee voted to send the amended version to the NEC unanimously.

MM happy for individual members to make statements on Young Labour funding

AOB
