Channels and Announcements in Test / Bob emailed Team spreadsheet listing the Channels, content owners, administrators, and providers. There are a few changes that still need to be made before spreadsheet is published.
John explained migrating from test to production.
Sync option for Calendar and PDA / More testing needs to be conducted before publishing the sync option. Carol is looking to get a PDA to do more testing.
Password Guidelines / There is a need to try to develop MyYSU password guidelines that will apply to other applications as well. There will not be a technical way to enforce guidelines for certain applications, but there is a need for written guidelines. Need to change everyone with dots in username. Training instance will not allow special characters as part of password.
Email Server / In regards to email, the domain is different (Lum.mail vs. my.ysu.edu). He is still working on back-up procedures. Rules for forwarding should be able to be copied over to MyYSU mail. New spam filter is currently being tested and could, depending on how well it works, be implemented as part of MyYSU mail
Email access for People using pop / Members of the team have been looking into ways for implementing email access for people using pop. One way is to create two mailboxes. Once those are created, the folders can be added and then copied into one mailbox. Then the old mailbox can be deleted. Team found it to be more logical to figure out a way to automatically subscribe to the folders when setting up a person’s email. More testing needs to be done before writing information out for Donna Wainio’s training.
Email Quota / Student’s current email storage space is 10MB and will be increased to 50MB. However, there may be a need to consider increasing it to more than 50MB. Faculty/Staff quota currently at 200MB. Consideration for increasing this quota as well. John and Rick are exploring prices with vendor for adding more storage.
Patches / Doug and Sandy will not install patches this week because of other projects. They will receive the patches next week.
Survey Tool / Joe Blankenship developed survey tools for the pilot group. An email was sent out to team containing the survey documents. The team is asked to review the tools and prepare feedback for next meeting.
