About FareShare

FareShare is a national charity fighting food poverty by tackling food waste. We source food that is surplus to requirements – from food retailers and manufacturers – and engage many volunteers to help redistribute this to local charities and community groups that provide meals for vulnerable or disadvantaged people. Projects include breakfast clubs, hostels, refuges, soup kitchens and centres supporting people recovering from addiction or living with physical or mental disabilities.

FareShare operates 20 Regional Centres (RCs) around the UK and supports over 1,700 local groups – our Community Food Members. In the last year, the food redistributed by FareShare contributed towards more than 13.2 million meals, feeding 82,100 people daily and helping businesses to reduce CO2 emissions by 25,200 tonnes. By receiving food from FareShare our charity partnerssave an average of £13,000 per year, money which they can then reinvest into vital support services.

About our London Regional Centre

Our RC in Deptford works to serve 130+ Community Food Members (CFMs) in the London area. We are open Monday – Friday between 8am and 7pm, receivingdaily deliveries from food companies and, with the help of over15 volunteers each day, we distribute over 55 tonnes of food each month.

We have ambitious plans to more than double the number of charities we support and to greatly increase the amount food we redistribute to feed more people across London. To achieve this we need to develop strong and strategic partnerships as well as provide clear and focused leadership to ensure a high level of efficiency.
