Subject: / Agents with non-administrative rights on Windows XP are unable to save their MySabre Emulator configuration settings.
Issue /
  1. MySabre agents are unable to save their emulator configuration settings on Windows XP platforms if they do not have administrative rights. Emulator configuration settings include Colors, and PF & Quick Keys.
  1. MySabre agents are unable to utilize the SSL connection to share the Sabre Workstation Address resources between multiple applications.

Solution / For agents who are not sharing the Sabre Workstation address and communication with other applications such as Sabre Cruise Director or Vouchers.
Provide the agent read/write access to their MySabre user directories. Requires administrative rights to perform these steps.
  • Typically the users base directory is C:\SABRE\APPS\EMULATOR\USERS\XXXX (where XXXX = USER ID). This is the default location but can be modified in the Sabre System Settings Directory located in the MyProfile/Advanced Sabre System Settings/General Settings configuration.
  1. Login to the local machine with administrative rights.
  2. Open up Windows Explorer
  3. Click on Tools
  4. Click on Folder Options
  5. Click on the View tab
  6. Uncheck the Use simple file sharing (Recommended) box
  7. Click on OK
  8. Right click the C:\SABRE\APPS\EMULATOR\USERS\XXXX (Where XXXX=User ID) directory
  9. Click on the Security tab
Note: The next couple of steps are necessary if the user XXXX is not already in the list otherwise skip to step 13
  1. In the Properties window, click on Add
  2. In the Select Users or Groups window, click on Advanced
  3. Click on Find Now
  4. Highlight the user and click on OK
  5. Click on OK
  6. In the Properties windows, highlight the user XXXX
  7. The Read & Execute and Read Boxes will be checked by default. Check the Modify and Write boxes and click on Apply.
  8. Click on OK.

Solution / Additional steps for agents who are sharing the Sabre Workstation Address resource and communication with other applications such as Cruise Director and Vouchers.
Provide the agent with read/write access to Sabre communication files, directories, and registry. Requires administrative rights to perform these steps.
The same steps that were used to provide the user read/write access to their user directories will need to be applied to the following files and directories.
  • C:\CSAPI.LOG
  • C:\SOFTWARE.TBL
  • C:\WINDOWS\SABRE.INI
  • C:\WINDOWS\SABSITE.INI
  • C:\SABRE
Additionally, the Sabre portion of the registry will require read/write access.
  1. Click on Start
  2. Click on Run
  3. Type REGEDIT and click on OK
  4. Click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
  5. Click on SOFTWARE
  6. Right click on The SABRE Group
  7. Click on Permissions
  8. In the Permissions for The SABRE Group window, click on Add
  9. In the Select Users or Groups window, click on Advanced
  10. Click on Find Now
  11. Highlight the user and click on OK
  12. Click on OK
  13. In the Permissions for The SABRE Group window, highlight the user XXXX
  14. Check the Full Control box and click on Apply
  15. Click on OK
  16. Exit the Registry

Details / Sabre supplied hardware utilizing Windows XP is staged by default with the FAT32 file system but agencies purchasing their own computers or looking for additional security are using the NTFS file system, which provides additional security. These steps have been provided to assist the administrator in assigning the proper access to files and directories necessary for the implementation of MySabre.
Since the Sabre and European Print Modules, are installed as a Window’s Service by default, no further action is required for these products.
