Loch Lomond Sailing will be hosting the following open events during the 2018 season:

Loch Lomond Sailing Club Lomond Isles Marathon
Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd June 2018
An open event that all sailors of keelboats and dinghies are invited to participate. The event consists of 2 days racing; over 26 miles around the islands of Loch Lomond.
Loch Lomond Sailing Club Open Dinghy Event
Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd September 2018
The event will incorporate the Scottish Championships
for Wayfarer, International Moth and low-Riders, Wasp Classes and GP 14, Merlin, RS 200 and FEVA
It is a 5 race event over 2 days with courses being set to engage and challenge sailors

Flying Fifteen and Keelboat Open Event
Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th October 2018
For Flying Fifteens it will be a 5 race event over 2 days
For Keelboats it will be 2 island races over 2 days
1.Organising Authority

The events will be hosted and run by the Loch Lomond Sailing Club and a detail programme of events and sailing instructions will be published in advance of each event and posted on the LLSC website:

The event is open to all LLSC members’ and to visiting Sailors. RYA PNs and Keelboat PNs will be published in advance on the LLSC website

Section 3 ‘Rules of Navigation’ of the Loch Lomond Byelaws 2013 apply when meeting other vessels

Competitors can view a copy of the LLSC Regulations and Loch Lomond Byelaws 2013 in the Race Office and at the LLSC website

  1. Racing Instructions

A detailed Race Instruction will be provided by the Race Officer and made available prior to the event and a copy will be posted on the LLSC website

  1. Registration

A registration form will be available on the LLSC website to permit early notification and registration.

6.Racing Area

The Lomond Isle Marathon is an endurance race for all Dinghy and Keelboat Classes and will cover as much of the Loch as is possible over a 2 day period.

For the Dinghy Open and Flying Fifteens events the races will take place in the waters immediately in front of the Clubhouse. However, depending on weather and other circumstances the area may be extended to go beyond Inchcruin and Inchfad. Keelboat races will be extended to take in all of the islands. Further details will be available prior to the events and posted on the LLSC website charts will also be provided on the day. Further details will be provided at the Race Officers’ daily brief.

  1. Insurance

Each participating boat shall be insured with a valid third-party liability insurance with

a minimum cover of £3M for the duration of the event.

7. Entry Fees

Entry Forms can be down-loaded from the LLSC Website or will be available in the Club House at the Reception desk. Entry fees are per boat which will be £10.00 for visiting competitors and £5.00 for Club members. Registration will be open on the Saturday from 0800 hrs.

8. Catering

Hot snacks and drinks will be available in the Club house throughout both Saturday and

Sunday. A BBQ/meal and bar will be provided on the Saturday evening. The cost of the BBQ/meal will be announced nearer the time.
