NOTES FOR APPLICANTS

1.

/ You are warned that any person who, in connection with an application for the grant renewal or transfer of a sex establishment licence, makes a false statement which he knows to be false in any material respect, or which he does not believe to be true, is guilty of an offence and liable, on summary conviction to an unlimited fine.

2.

/ In the case of an application in respect of premises, a copy of the notice overleaf must be displayed for twenty-one days beginning with the date of application on or near the premises in respect of which application is made in a place where the notice can conveniently be read by the public. This notice must be published at the premises on pink fluorescent paper.

3.

/ In every case a copy of the notice overleaf must be published in a local newspaper circulating in Southampton City Council's area no later than seven days after the date of the application. The Southern Daily Echo and the Hampshire Independent are deemed to be such newspapers. Failure to comply with this statutory requirement will result in the application being void.

4.

/ You will need to supply the following before the application can be considered:
(a) / A complete copy of the newspaper in which the notice of application published. Photostat copies will not be accepted.
(b) / Evidence by Affidavit that the notice of application has been properly displayed for the required period on or near the premises.
(c) / Evidence that a copy of the application has been served on the
Force Licensing Team,Hampshire Constabulary, Southampton Police Office,
Civic Centre,Southampton SO14 7LY
