School Advisory Council Meeting Minutes

  1. Welcome
  1. Reading of the minutes from the first SAC Meeting 04/19/16 – Ms. Hanfling. Ms. Flores made the motion to accept the minutes, Ms. Harris seconded; the motion carries.
  1. School Improvement Plan – Professional Learning Communities, Response to Intervention, Accreditation Process, School Advisory Council, Continuous Improvement.
  1. School Wide Positive Behavior Plan
  1. SPBP Plan: Critical Elements – Discipline Team, Faculty and Stakeholder Commitment, School-wide Expectations, Location-based Rules, Effective Discipline Procedures, Monitoring Plans.
  2. Expectation Lesson Plans
  3. Rules Lesson Plans
  4. Went over the Champs program and how the teachers will receive training early next year/ Refresher course for those familiar with CHAMPS
  5. Went over every element of the Positive Behavior Plan with the parents and explained each element
  6. Motion to approve the SPBP made by Ms. Hoddy, seconded by Ms. Lopez, the motion has been accepted for the 2016/2017 School Year.
  1. School Choice Enhancement Ballot – $100,000 General Obligation Bond Funding, parents, students and faculty will have the chance to vote on two options how the funds will be managed; the Sac Committee votes to approve the options on the ballot, motion made by Ms. Hoddy, seconded by Ms. Flores, motion carries by majority vote.

  1. Ms. Gourdet is the School’s Interim Principle
  2. The lowest 300 school list – the decision whether we will have the extended day next school year has not been made
  3. Diversity Committee is scheduled to visit 05/18/16
  4. Visit of the Director from Ohio urban District to see our school implementation of the Istation Program
  5. Leaps Program implementation next year
  6. FSA are completed
