Primary Objectives of Position / 1.Undertake instructional design, writing, editing and review tasks as needed for projects, which may be online or print based, applying either a constructive or instructive approach depending on the product.
2.Assist with the management and completion of a range of industry related projects, which may include research, development/delivery of training programs, resource development (including online and print based) and evaluation/validation.
3.Work with external organisations (government and private sector), identifying resource development and training related needs and developing appropriate products and/or programs on a fee-for-service basis.

Specific Accountabilities /
  1. Undertake tasks related toprojects to ensure all work is completed to the required standard, within budget and timelines.
  2. Assist with the management and completion of a range of industry related projects, which may include research, development/delivery of training programs, resource development (including online and print based) and evaluation/validation.
  3. Undertake instructional design, writing, editing and review tasks.
4.Work with external organisations (government and private sector), identifying resource development and training related needs and developing appropriate products and/or programs on a fee-for-service basis.
5.Assist the project managers on matters relating to the general organisation of specific projects.
6.Assist with preparation of project reports and documentation, meetings, liaising with content experts, contractors and editors.
7.Perform duties relating to projects, including, assisting with preparation of project reports and documentation, meetings, liaising with content experts, contractors and editors.
  1. Liaise with internal and external staff to achieve project outcomes.
  2. Provide content support to the Project Manager (Multimedia).
  3. Work within approved budgets and timelines.
  4. Assist with the provision and/or organisation of training for the purpose of successfully completing projects.
  5. Liaise with the Office Manager to ensure the timely completion of administrative work related to projects.
  6. Provide instruction to staff and contractors.
  7. Liaise with industry and stakeholders.
  8. Other duties as directed.

Qualifications / Minimum
  • Tertiary qualification in adult education or other relevant area.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Preferred
Qualification in one or more of the following:
  • project management
  • instructional design
  • writing.

Knowledge /
  • Adult learning styles.
  • Instructional design techniques such as constructivism and learning object design.
  • Electronic mediums, including mobile learning technologies.
  • Education and training documentation including curricula, Training Packages and training needs assessments.

Experience /
  • Demonstrated instructional design experience in online, blended and/or print projects for VET, secondary and/or Higher Education and/or the corporate sector.
  • Instructional design, writing, editing and review of learning resources for print and electronic mediums.
  • Liaising with stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Working on and completing a range of projects on time and within budget.
  • Corporate, Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Higher Education (HE) sector experience would be an advantage.
  • Coordinating the development of learning resources for print and electronic mediums would be an advantage.
  • Project coordination would be an advantage.

Skills /
  • Instructional design, writing, editing and review of learning resources for print and electronic mediums.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise own work and work of others.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team.

Key Selection Criteria / 1.Demonstrated instructional design experience in online, blended and/or print projects for VET, secondary and/or Higher Education and/or the corporate sector.
2.Experience and ability designing and developing learning resources, both print based and online.
3.Demonstrated experience working on and completing a range of projects on time and within budget.
4.Experience in dealing with industry and education clients to achieve project satisfaction.
5.Ability to prioritise own work and work of others.
