The Alabama Sports Festival Foundation (ASF Foundation), a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, was founded in 1982 at the request of the United States Olympic Committee. The ASF Foundation serves as a state-wide mentor organization for teaching our youth the importance of academics, healthy lifestyles and good citizenship. The ASF sponsors the Alabama Sports Festival. In 2012, ASF Foundation's 30th Anniversary State Games showcased more than 6,000 athletes competing in 25 different sports and over 100 sporting events.

The Wii Can Fight Obesity’s (WiiFit) primary objective is to instill healthy lifestyle habits that will hopefully last a lifetime, significantly reduce obesity risk factors and enhance interest in personal health, movement related activities and sports. The ASF Foundation has thus far invested over $800,000 in providing Wee Can Fight ObesitySM systems and professional assistance to 243 schools and 38 Senior Centers participating in the program.
