Prezi - Prezi works with size and an almost unlimited canvas to allow one to create dynamic presentations. It offers students a lot of freedom and the ability to "backwards design" and create a meaningful "big picture" concept.

Vuvox - Vuvox offers 3 ways to create: Express, Collage, and Studio. Collage is recommended for student projects.

Wix Website Builder - Wix is a great tool for students because it is professional-looking yet intuitive, and allows for complete customization.

Powtoon - Powtoon is a brand new presentation tool that allows you to create animated presentations by dragging and dropping designed elements to your slides.

Glogster - Glogster is a social network that allows users to create free interactive posters, or Glogs. A "Glog", short for "graphics blog", is an interactive multimedia image.

Xtranormal - Animated Movies Made Easy! Xtranormal instantly turns your words into a 3D animated movie

Pinterest - A content sharing service that allows members to "pin" images, videos and other objects to their pinboard

Voicethread - Transforming media into collaborative spaces with video, voice, and text commenting.

Infographics or Animated Infographics – Various sites online can assist with creating these. Some technical skill may be required to created animated infographics.

Re.vu - Re.vu is a complete rethinking of what a resume can be. You no longer have to cram your experience and expertise onto a plain white piece of paper.

Dipity - Create an interactive, visually engaging timeline in minutes. Use dynamic visualization tools to display photos, videos, news and blogs in chronological order

Capzles - Capzles helps anyone create beautiful, interactive, rich-media timelines online using videos, photos, text, music, audio and most documents

Animoto– Animoto is an easy to use tool to create photo & music video stories. This would be a fun project for an art class. Upload your photos, arrange the order, select a piece of music and let Animoto do it’s magic. You’ll have a great video slide show with great transitions and effects synched to the beat of the music. 30 second videos are free.

bunkr – A fairly new presentation tool. Easily include content from other sources like your instagram, twitter, flickr, youtube, etc accounts. Tons of options for grabbing content from around the web. Or just use it for simple slides with your own image backgrounds and text.

  • Present.me– Upload slides, then narrate and record video of presenter. Slides and presenter appear on the screen together.

MEDIA RESOURCES

Finding Media: Searching for photos and music can take a lot of work, especially if you’re preparing an important presentation and are looking for just the right image to convey your message. Listed below are some tools to help you find media for presentations. The best way to find photos you can legally reuse, is to search for Creative Commons licensed images. Some image search tools have a way to limit your search to CC licensed content.

  • IMPORTANT: Check for licensing terms of any photo you download. You’ll need to keep track of where you got the photo to give it proper credit.

Image search tools:

  • PhotoPin –Very easy to use and searches a number of sources for CC licensed photos.
  • CC search – search for images, video and music from one search page. Handy!
  • Flickr advanced search – Scroll to the botton of the screen and select the Creative Commons setting & “Find content to modify, adapt, or build upon”
