JOB DESCRIPTION

POST:- Shift Caretaker

LINE MANAGER:- Site Manager

HEAD OF DEPARTMENT:- Director of Estates, Facilities & Sustainability

SALARY:- £8.32 per hour

WORKING HOURS:- Day Shift :- 0600 to 1430

Evening Shift:- 1400 to 2230

Night Shift:- 2200 to 0630

DUTIES:-

[1] Opening and closing of all buildings as required by the college.

[2] Liaising with all visitors to the college and assisting them as required.

[3] Point of contact for all emergency services, acting as their guide.

[4] Familiarise yourself with all building services. Fire Alarms / Intruder Alarms / Nurse Call System/ Heating / Electrics / CCTV & Swimming Pools. Portable Appliance Testing.

[5] Setting up of rooms for a variety of functions.

[6] Provide an emergency response to any maintenance requests and liaise with “On Call” staff.

[7] Collection of all domestic waste.

[8] Receipt and distribution of all incoming deliveries and parcels.

[9] Liaise with and assist the cleaning team as required.

[10] Patrol the college campus and create a safe environment for our students and staff.

[11] Monitor the use of our golf course.

[12] General site tidiness and litter collection.

[13] To demonstrate personal commitment to equality to ensure we develop a community which celebrates and values diversity

[15] Any other reasonable duties requested by your line manager.

ATTRIBUTES / ESSENTIAL / DESIRABLE
Experience / ·  Customer Service role / ·  Previous caretaker experience ideally within a school/college/ residential setting.
Qualifications / ·  A good general standard of education / ·  Craft/Technical or Professional qualification in a related field
Skills & Knowledge / ·  Good verbal and written communication

·  Excellent interpersonal skills
·  Good organisation and planning skills
