Graduations, Mother’s Day & Father’s Day, activities galore!
I want to wish you all a safe and productive summer.
We want to invite you to our Member Appreciation Meeting May 17, 2016. Please make a reservation as the Chapter will be providing the lunch. Jerry Oligimueller will be our speaker. We will also be recognizing our past AGA presidents and taking a quick vote on the new by-laws.
We hope to see you at our May 11 Audio Conference.

AGA Chapter Meeting
This will be the annual Membership Appreciation meeting. Lunch will be provided. Godfather’s pizza and salad.
You must register on the chapter website by Friday, May 13th at 5:00 pm so we know how much Pizza to get.

Speaker: Gerry A. Oligmueller - State Budget Administrator - State of Nebraska
Gerry has served as State Budget Administrator for the State of Nebraska since September 1995. Gerry has responsibility for assisting the Governor in the preparation of the Governor’s budget recommendations and management oversight of the use of state and federal funds by State agencies. He directs the executive fiscal planning and fiscal policy process.
Gerry has also served on three different occasions as the Acting Director of the Department of Administrative Services. The Administrative Services Department is a large state agency with key enterprise responsibilities in the areas of insurance, risk management, personnel, accounting, procurement, vehicle and property management.
Gerry is a past President of the National Association of State Budget Officers during 2001-02. NASBO is a national affiliate of the National Governor’s Association and provides research, policy development, education, training, and technical assistance on budget matters for the fifty state budget officers of the nation’s governors and their staff. In 2006, NASBO awarded Gerry the Gloria Timmer Award, its national recognition for outstanding achievement in state budgeting.
Gerry’s prior service in state government has included Deputy Director of the former Nebraska Department of Social Services, Deputy Director of the Nebraska Legislative Fiscal Office, and Deputy Commissioner of the South Dakota Bureau of Finance and Management.

CHAPTER MEETING MINUTES – April 6, 2016
The meeting was held at Misty’s Downtown, 200 North 11th.
20 members and 1 guest were present at the meeting.
Ramona Hartley, Chapter President, called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m. and welcomed everyone in attendance. The guest present was introduced.
Ramona discussed:
The Spring PDT is scheduled for April 20th. There is still time to register on the website.
The April CEC will be April 27th and will be followed by a webinar. More information on the webinar and registration is available on the website.
The May Chapter Meeting will be May 17th at the 1526 Bldg. This is the last Chapter Meeting of the
15-16 year. This meeting is the Member Appreciation event and food will be provided.
Ramona then turned the meeting over to CEC member Ron Carlson. A ballot with the proposed 16-17 CEC slate was passed out.

Ron called for nominations from the floor. Receiving none the nominations were closed. Frank Faughn made a motion to accept the slate as presented and to move to a vote. The motion was seconded by Char Scott. Ron called for a vote and the slate was approved. Please contact Ken Rouch if you are interested in any of the open positions.
Char Scott introduced our speaker – Mr. Ryan Sothan. Mr. Sothan is the Outreach Coordinator – Identity Theft; Detect, Deter and Defend Office of the Attorney General – Consumer Protection & Anti-Trust Division.
Mr. Sothan presented a very interesting program on Consumer Protection including identity theft and other items. He provided informational packets and encouraged the group to check out the Attorney General’s new consumer protection website - https://protectthegoodlife.nebraska.gov/ .
Mr. Sothan drew the name of the drawing winner. The winner of $15 was Dan Albrecht.

CHAPTER EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
April 27, 2016 Capitol, RM #1326
Executive Committee Members Present: Dan Albrecht, Dee Ward, Staci Bolton, Tim Channer, Ramona Hartley, Ken Rouch, Ron Carlson, Amy Hock, and Ann Martinez.
President – President, Ramona Hartley, called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m.
President Elect – no update
Secretary & Past President –Ann stated that the minutes from the March 2, 2016 Chapter Meeting and the March 16, 2016 CEC meeting had been published in the March 2016 newsletter. A motion was made by Amy and seconded by Ron to approve the meeting minutes as published. Motion approved unanimously.
Ann will be attending the Salt Lake City SLM May 6-7. Effective July 1, 2016 there will no longer by Regional Coordinators. Thursday evening there will be a meeting with the Regional and Senior Vice Presidents. As the incoming Midwest Regional Vice President Ann will be responsible for the agenda for the Saturday Regional session. Ken as the incoming 16-17 Chapter President will be attending
Treasurer – Dan presented the March 2016 Treasurer’s Report. Ken made a motion to accept the March 2016 Treasurer’s Report. The motion was seconded by Char. Motion approved unanimously.
Education – No update. Approximately 53 attended last week’s PDT. More information will be available next month regarding the event’s revenue and expenses.
A webinar will follow the CEC meeting at the Capitol.
Membership/Early Careers/Young Professionals – No update.
Meetings – The speaker at the May 17th Chapter meeting will be Gerry Oligmueller, State Budget Administrator. The meeting will be held at the 1526 Bldg., 4th floor – Room D Hearing Room. This is the last Chapter meeting of this Program Year. It is also Member Appreciate Day. A motion was made by Ken and seconded by Tim to provide pizza and salad to the members attending the meeting. Registration on the Chapter’s website is requested by Friday, May 13th to assist with planning. More information will be provided via email, the newsletter and the website.
Past Chapter President’s will also be recognized at the meeting. Ramona will be contacting them.
The Presidential gavel will also be passed.
Communications – Items are due to Tim for the April newsletter later today.
Community Service – No report.
Professional Certification – No report
Accountability & Outreach – Ken had no update.
Bylaws – Prior to the CEC meeting Ramona had provided the CEC members with a list of changes to the revised by-law template that Ron had been working on. By-law changes were made at the National level that required changes in the local Chapter’s by-laws. The CEC discussed these changes and comments that Ken had provided to the CEC prior to the meeting. Char made a motion, seconded by Staci to accept the changes. Motion passed unanimously. The revised By-laws will be sent out prior to the May 17th Chapter Meeting. They will be discussed and voted on at that meeting.
Other Business – As the new 16-17 Chapter President Ken discussed additional members that had been recruited to serve on next year’s CEC since the slate was voted on at the April Chapter Meeting. Chris Barber has agreed to serve as President-elect, Ann Martinez has moved from Secretary to Membership Director and Jenessa Boynton as agreed to service as the Assistant Director of Membership. A motion was made by Amy seconded by Ron to approve the additions and changes to the 16-17 CEC. Motion passed unanimously. Chris would like to attend the SLM, but the session is currently full.
Meeting adjourned at 12:50 p.m.
