Liberty Township Regular Meeting

Present: Monroe, Deibert, Talbot, Heady & Bogart Absent: None

Visitors: Karen Talbot & Robert Fountain

Minutes: The minutes were read by Treasurer Deibert. A motion was made to approve the minutes by Supervisor Monroe, and 2nd by Treasurer Deibert. All in favor.

Correspondence: Treasurer Deibert presented an application for disinterment. Sexton, Lee Deibert, had been approached township residents who wished to move the cremains of their family member. Board discussed and a motion was made by Supervisor Monroe and supported by Treasurer Deibert to allow disinterment, supervised by the sexton or a Board Member, at a cost of $150.00 with a signed application. Roll Call Vote: All Yeas

Zoning Board of Appeals: There will be no meeting in December.

MTA class offerings

Recreation Planning: Supervisor notified that she will participate.

Water Test of resident on 41 Road came back within the acceptable range.

Property Owner on US Highway 131 & 41 ½ road had to appear in court for burying construction waste.

Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer gave the financial report and bills were presented for approval. Clerk noted that Cyndi had been covering for Lee and needed to be paid yet, not included in the bills. Also Supervisor Monroe had a bill for copies made that was not on the list. A motion was made to accept the treasurer’s report and pay bills listed and added by Clerk Bogart, 2nd by Trustee Heady. Roll Call Vote: Bogart “yes”, Talbot “yes”, Heady “yes”, Deibert “yes” and Monroe “yes”.

Supervisor stated she had laid down some hay at the cemetery to help with the wash out.

Treasurer said that Lee Deibert had given verbal notice months ago that he was resigning as Sexton and Hall Supervisor. Board will seek a replacement. Discussed advertising thru Facebook.

There were issues with the restroom plumbing, Treasurer contacted multiple people and was able to get Mr. Rooter to come out. Lots of roots were dug out and they recommended digging up and replacing a section of exterior pipe. They provided a bid of $2200.00 for this.Board discussed and some felt this was excessive, will try to get some other input. So as not to be held up for another month with winter upon us Supervisor Monroe made a motion to allow up to $2200.00 to repair/replace and get septic/drain working, supported by Treasurer Deibert. Roll Call Vote: Bogart “yes”, Heady “yes”, Talbot “yes”, Deibert “yes” and Monroe “yes”.

Wreaths Across America will hold a ceremony at the Manton School Ranger Room at Noon on December 16th.

Board has received one flat rate bid for the cemetery work of mowing and trimming thru word of mouth. Will post the job and contact interested parties in the future.
