2018 State Testing Option Form
All Colorado School Districts are required to administer various tests to students: SAT (College Admissions), PSAT (Preliminary SAT College Admissions), PARRC (Math and English Language Arts (ELA), and CMAS (Science and Social Studies) and Co-Alt for special needs students per requirements outline in Colorado Revised Statutes 22-7-409.
Parents may excuse their students from taking SAT, PSAT, PARRC, CMAS, or Co-Alt tests without concern about negative consequences to the student, school, or district.
Parents are encouraged to submit this request for exemption as soon as possible before the testing window opens. See the district assessment calendar for information regarding the start of testing.
If you choose to excuse your student from one or more state assessments, please complete the following information, sign it and provide a copy to the school’s office.

NOTE: If your child does not attend school during the testing periods, only absences for the specific testing periods will be considered “excused”. If your student does attend school during testing periods, a student hall situation with supervision will be provided. There will be no direct instruction provided in place of testing.
