ITU-T’s Joint Coordination Activity for Identity Management (JCA-IdM) is responsible for minimizing duplication and harmonization of IdM work within ITU-T and for sharing ITU-T’s work in IdM with other relevant non-ITU-T organizations. In order to fulfil this JCA-IdM responsibility, a roadmap for IdM activities within ITU-T and other organizations is needed. The intent is to use the roadmap as a tool to understand how the major IdM standards work is complimentary to each other and are leading towards a common set of objectives. Eventually the roadmap could take the form of a Concept Map with supporting information about each project.

Initially the format of the roadmap will consists of project abstracts with major milestones and description of the interrelations between projects, i.e., how the combination of IdM projects support one or more IdM objectives. The roadmap will be a living document and reviewed periodically at JCA-IdM meetings.

The first step in creating the roadmap is to gather data. Please provide the roadmap information outlined above so that a consolidated IdM roadmap can be developed and reviewed at the next JCA-IdM meeting in September 2009. The following format should be used to submit the IdM roadmap information:

Type (standard, work in progress…) / Title of the (draft) standard / Summary of the (draft) standard / Relationship with other (draft) standards / Status and milestones / Remarks
