SmartDraw This is an excellent program to use for creating the management competition project. A free trial version is available however you can only use one print of you material. The company usually only sells the academic version at a reduced price to postsecondary but when I advised them that my students received college credits for my class they allowed me to purchase at the same reduced rate per license.
Restaurantowner.com This is a subscription site but offers several free resources and downloads that were very helpful to my students. I plan to pay for this site this school year. In doing research for informational sites, I noted that one culinary school uses this site as the student textbook for a management development class.
Ehow.com has great information for student to use. Here are a few links my students used. One link always leads you to other links on the same topic. It is a straight forward website for high school students to navigate:
Ambur Wireless POS This is a great tool to teach students about using a POS system. They offer a free app. You can use it in your classroom for a teaching tool or if you only run a small operation like we do The entire cost of a system was less that $1500 at that is a one-time price which includes a total wireless pos system. Their customer service is extraordinary. They took time to help me set up exactly what I needed for our operation.
