On Saturday, October 1, 2016, the Leander High School Band will host its Fifth Annual March-A-Thon. Students will participate in a four-hour non-stop rehearsal, culminating with a free public performance at 7:00pm. Funds raised will support program scholarships for band members in need, and help cover many of the operating costs, which help keep program fees affordable for families. The Leander Band has a rich history of musical excellence that includes invitation-only performances at the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, CA, and the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland. In 2014 the Leander Band placed third in the finals at the Bands of America Super Regional in San Antonio. In 2015 the Leander Band won the Bands of America Regional competition and won a Bronze medal in the State UIL competition. The Leander Band Color Guard is the 2012, 2013, and 2014 TCGC Champion. In 2015, the Leander Band Color Guard added a JV program and the Varsity program won a silver medal in the TCGC State competition!
“The Leander Band is a team whose success through goal and achievement is attributed to its unconditional pride and devotion to the program.” It is through the spirit of putting this mission in to action which fuels everything the band members are involved in, from academics, to performances, to ensuring that Leander High School has one of the best programs in the state and is available to anyone who is willing to live by that mission.
Over 60% of the students attending Leander High School qualify for free or reduced lunch, one of the highest percentages in the district. With cuts in music education and rising costs associated with the program, it is more important than ever that we continue to be successful in our fund raising so that the program is accessible to all who desire the educational and experiential learning opportunities which band can provide the most.
In November of this year, the Leander Band is competing in the Bands of America Grand Nationals Championship held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. As you can imagine, the trip is costly as we must transport over 300 students plus faculty, chaperones, parents, instruments, and props. We need every student to join us!

· Level 1: For a donation of at least $250, you will be featured on a specially designed shirt.
· Level 2: For a donation of at least $600, you will be listed on our website and on the shirt.
