Scholarship Program

The Lewis River Rotary Club is pleased to offer a series of scholarships in a total amount of $20,000! for graduating high school seniors. The scholarship will be applied to tuition and fees at the college, university or trade school of the recipient’s choice.

Continuing Education scholarships are also available for previous students of the schools listed below.

The scholarships will include at least $2,000 dedicated to Vocational Scholarships and $1,500 dedicated to scholarships for members of Rotary Interact.

To be considered for a scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

¨  Be a 2011 graduate of Battle Ground High School, Prairie High School, Hockinson High School or Columbia Academy; or a Home School or CAM School graduate who resides in the Battle Ground School District or Hockinson School District areas.

¨  Complete the attached application form addressing the following:

¨  Educational Goals

¨  School Activities

¨  Special Recognition

¨  Career Goals

¨  Community Service Activities

¨  How you interpret “The Rotary Four-Way Test” as it applies to your life

The Four-Way Test

¨  Is it the TRUTH?

¨  Is it FAIR to all concerned?

¨  Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

¨  Is it BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

¨  Finalists may be interviewed by a select Rotary Team

Application forms are available from the College and Career Center, your high school counselor, or at the Lewis River Rotary website www.clubrunner.ca/lewisriver . Questions can be directed to John Halver at 360-798-5577

Application Deadline: April 15 (submit to College and Career Center, to high school counselor’s office, or mail to Lewis River Rotary)

¨  Community Activities

¨  The Rotary Four-Way Test

Award Schedule: Notification of scholarship recipients will be made by June 6. Scholarship recipients and their families will be invited to attend a meeting of the Lewis River Rotary Club to participate in the scholarship award presentation.
