Lets make a 'Working Copy' for your Range.

1 Save a Copy now and When you are done.
2 First save the program under a different name to use as Your Range Scoring Program.
3 Go to Main page and bring up your range name from the drop down box under 'Range'
4 Go ahead and type a date in and this will give you an idea when you set up the program.

5 Click any other boxes you think will be the normal setup.

Now lets go to the ‘Add Shooters’ page and sort your normal shooters.

In general follow instruction 8 below above.

For example I would use an 'a' in the first column for Regular Shooters.

I then put a 'b' next to shooters who only show up once or twice a year.

Once you have all your shooters selected like you want put a check mark in the 'First' or 'Last' name box.

Push the 'Sort Participants' button and all your shooters will be sorted to the top of the list by first or last name.

6 Now go to the Scores page and fill in all your regular shooters and their equipment.

Now go back to the main page Put a check mark next to the 'New Match' button.

This will save the shooters and equipment you have entered.

From now on you just assign bench numbers and click Sort.

Hint: I would click in the very top left corner (A1) of this sheet.

When I use Excel I always leave my curser somewhere in my spread sheets where

it can not do any harm when I open that file again.

I.E. If I open the file and then touch a key in a cell with a formula - if not careful it could

erase the formula! - Ugh!!

7 Now click on the File Menu and save your 'Working Copy' of the Scoring Program.

8 More Detail on adding Shooter and ID#'s in the LkUpTables:

You can Click on the ‘Add New Shooters’ on the Main or Scores pages.

Put a 'Check' in the box on how you want your shooters names to be sorted. First or Last

Click on 'Go to End of List' (Shooter Master List)

In column ‘D’ & 'E' put the shooters First and Last name. (No Extra spaces)

In column ‘F’ put the last 4 digits of their S/S number. (No Spaces)

Max 2 leading zeros! (Just follow the format of the ones already in the list)

In the Sort column (‘C’) put a letter (or number) if you want them at the top in the

‘Shooter ID’ drop down box.

Then just click on the ‘Sort Participants:’ button.

This will sort the whole list in alphabetical order.

The names, who have a letter in the "Sort" will be sorted at the top of the list.

(all A's first then B's etc)

(Nothing goes in the Equipment List Columns – We might do something with this later)

This is the best way to setup the program initially for your range.

Later you can add a new shooter from the scores page.

9 Notes on Cut, Copy & Paste.

You can Copy and Paste within the program and between programs AS LONG AS you

Paste Special and check Values only!!!

You do not want to use any Copy or Paste on the Main menu and the Results sheet.

You can copy and Paste Special on the LkUp Table but I would NOT recommend it.

Do not change Club Names or Equipment - get hold of statistician if a change needs to

be made.

When copying and pasting special on the scores page do it in Sections. !

Names & Benches:

Yards Scores: (Not Yards and Meters)

Meters Scores: (again not Yards & Meters)

Equip: You can copy and paste Special all 3 Classes at the same time.

Sorry the instructions are so long!

Once you use the program once or twice you will no longer need these instructions.

I hope I made sense in this explanation? Try it and tell me if it does not work for you.
