NATIONAL /LOCAL STANDARDS /INDUSTRY / ISTE

Students use critical thinking skills to plan and conduct research, manage projects, solve problems, and make informed decisions using appropriate digital tools and resources. Students:

a. identify and define authentic problems and significant questions for investigation.

b. plan and manage activities to develop a solution or complete a project.

c. collect and analyze data to identify solutions and/or make informed decisions.

d. use multiple processes and diverse perspectives to explore alternative solutions.

ESSENTIAL QUESTION(S) – Why do we use inverse operations? How can you determine which inverse operation you should use?

PRE-REQUISITE KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS/CURRENT LESSON KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS – The students should be able to add and subtract mental with one unknown (variable). The students will be able to solve equations algebraically by doing the inverse operations. They will be able to isolate the variable and determine what they are solving for.

ASSESSMENTS: Quiz using the CPS units. Multiple choice test with or without the CPS units.

AttacH Assessment(OPTIONAL) – Save an assessment in your folder and then create a link here.

INSTRUCTIONAL PLANNING - The students will take notes in their GALT workbook or composition notebook. This includes all relevant vocabulary and several examples. Students will complete two guided practice examples in their workbook then use laptop to practice at NLVM.

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT –Student textbook and workbook, laptops, pencil & paper, CPS units
