Lely High School PARKING RULES
Students may not drive or park on school property during the school day without displaying a VALID SCHOOL PARKING PERMIT. Any previous parking fines must be paid for before purchasing a new permit.
I UNDERSTAND AS A STUDENT, I MAY ONLY PARK IN MY ASSIGNED SPACE.
Driving/Parking Violations:
Parking a vehicle at Lely High School is a privilege, not a right. This privilege may be suspended or revoked at any time.
Lely High School is a closed campus. Once you arrive on campus you may not leave without required parental and/or administrative permission.
FAILURE TO OBTAIN A PARKING PERMIT WILL RESULT IN A PARKING CITATION AND STUDENT FINE. PARKING PERMIT MUST BE DISPLAYED AT ALL TIMES OR A $5.00 FINE WILL BE CHARGED EVERY TIME THAT IT IS NOT.
A student’s driving and parking privileges may be suspended or revoked for the following reasons:
· Excessive tardy to school (7 or more),
· Students who are absent 10 or more days may face the possible loss of parking privileges,
· Parking in spaces designated for faculty & visitor parking,
· Operating a vehicle in a manner that is detrimental to the safety of oneself or others,
· Not abiding by speed limits or other laws or regulations governing driving,
· Using the vehicle to break other school rules i.e. leaving school grounds in the vehicle without permission from school authorities,
· Possession of tobacco, alcohol, or drugs in your vehicle on school campus,
· Going to the vehicle without permission during the school day,
· Parking or driving on the grass or other areas not designated for parking,
· Lending one’s parking permit to another person,
· Parking without a valid permit,
· Loitering in parked vehicles before or after school,
In addition, a student may also receive an afterschool program (ASP), parent notification, In-School Suspension (ISS), or Out-of-School Suspension (OSS).
When one drives or parks on school property, the person in charge of the vehicle consents to a check of the vehicle with or without cause by school officials. Also, law enforcement officers working with canine units (drug-sniffing dogs) will periodically conduct unannounced checks of the vehicles on school property.
VEHICLE WILL BE SUBJECT TO TOWING AT OWNER’S EXPENSE.
I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD THE INFORMATION LISTED ABOVE.
