Learning and Support Teacher - Ingleburn High School

Expressions of interest are invited from teachers interested in a career opportunity relieving in the position of a Learning and Support Teacher from 29/1/18 to 13/4/18, with a possible extension. The position with be located at Ingleburn High School.

Ingleburn High School is a co–educational comprehensive school which services the needs and aspirations of a diversemulti–cultural urban population. The school enrolment is currently at 622, including 47 Aboriginal and Torres StraitIslander students. The school has asupport unit of three classes (one for students with moderate intellectual disabilities, one for students with autism, andone multi–categorical class).The school motto is Tolerance, Integrity and Excellence. These character traits are nurtured and fostered in a caring andsupportive learning environment. Ingleburn High School aims to provide broad–based educational experiences that areboth relevant and challenging in cooperative classrooms. An expression of interest addressing the criteria, of no more than 2 pages in length should be submitted to Mr Darko Levkovski, Head Teacher Teaching and Learning at by 5pmon8 December 2017.

Selection criteria

  • Approval to teach students with learning and support needs (secondary) and/or experience teaching students with learning and support needs (secondary) in mainstream classes.
  • Proven abilityto plan, implement, model, monitor and evaluate personalised adjustments for learning where required with the classroom teacher, student and parent/carer and the use of data to enhance teaching and learning programs (e.g. NAPLAN, HSC)
  • Ability to provide relevant support across the school through proven effective communication, organisation, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Every Student, Every School Learning and Support Framework, Disability Legislation, the Disability Standards for Education and the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD).

One of the referees listed must be the applicant’s current principal. Expressions of interest must not exceed 2 A4 pages and require the signature of the applicant’s current principal.
