Session Objectives:
- To provide an overview of the importance and changing nature of the agricultural sector in Middle Tennessee
- To identify the economic impact of agriculture in Robertson County, Middle Tennessee, and the state
- To understand how fluctuating commodity prices and demand impact the region’s economy
- To acquire knowledge of the production, economic impacts, and market trends for the tobacco industry
- To identify what the Farm Bureau is and why we have the largest Farm Bureau in the US
- To understand thecattle industry and the demand of beef production
- To identify GMO food production benefits and disadvantages and the what is the latest research revealing
- To be exposed to the aspects of agritourismand how the region is capitalizing on it
- To understand the workforce needs and challenges of agriculture operations
