Session Objectives:

  1. To provide an overview of the importance and changing nature of the agricultural sector in Middle Tennessee
  2. To identify the economic impact of agriculture in Robertson County, Middle Tennessee, and the state
  3. To understand how fluctuating commodity prices and demand impact the region’s economy
  4. To acquire knowledge of the production, economic impacts, and market trends for the tobacco industry
  5. To identify what the Farm Bureau is and why we have the largest Farm Bureau in the US
  6. To understand thecattle industry and the demand of beef production
  7. To identify GMO food production benefits and disadvantages and the what is the latest research revealing
  8. To be exposed to the aspects of agritourismand how the region is capitalizing on it
  9. To understand the workforce needs and challenges of agriculture operations
