Lead-Deadwood High School “Gold Rush”
Monday, August 29th , 6:00-8:00pm; all new and returning students and parents are encouraged to attend and pick up their schedules, activity passes, and visit with teachers and staff.
9th grade/ new student orientation: There will be an orientation meeting August 29th at 5:30pm in the auditorium. New high school students will be issued laptop computers, review the handbook and policies, meet support staff, and discuss successful transition into high school. In addition, students may pick up their schedule and activity passes, locate classrooms and visit teachers during the open house.
New student registration: August 22nd – 26th from 8:30am – 3:00pm in the office of Rhonda Britzman, High School Counselor. Please bring transcripts, birth certificate, and immunization records.
School Hours: 8:30am to 3:32pm. Wednesday, August 31st is the first day of school. Students unable to attend the LDHS ‘Gold Rush’ to pick up their schedule prior the start of school may stop in the office the first day of school at 7:30 am to obtain a schedule; or access it online through the parent/student portal of Infinite Campus.
Laptop Computer Student Orientation:
All students of Lead-Deadwood High School will be issued a computer for school use. Before a returning student in grades 10-12 may be issued a computer, they must turn in the Lead Deadwood school district computer Acceptable Use Policy(AUP) signed by both the student and parent/guardian. This form can be found on the school website or picked up in the high school office.
New students and 9th grade students and their parent/guardian must attend an orientation meeting outlining the technical aspects, program policies, acceptable use, and guidelines for use of the computer and complete all required documentation. This will be done in conjunction with the new student and 9th grade orientation August 29th at 5:30 pm in the auditorium.
Laptop pickup is scheduled for returning high school students grade 10-12 from 1:00-3:00 pm the week of August 22nd thru the 26th.
Laptop pickup for new students and freshmen:
August 29th: immediately following the required 9th grade and new student laptop and orientation meeting at 5:30pm.
