LCMS August 2013 Good News Report

On July 29, 51 LCMS families attended the District-Wide Back-To-School fair.

On August 2, LCMS teachersvisited the homes of 91 families.

On August 2, 151 families attended Open House and travelled the student schedule to meet teachers and learn class expectations. We had 77% of our families attend. 

LCMS cheerleaders brought home blue ribbons, a spirit stick, as well as 2nd place in Cheer and 3rd place in Game Day Performance from Cheerleading Camp at Marshall County High School, July 17-19. Emily Owens was named to the All American Cheer Squad. The article about their accomplishments is in the August 6, 2013, Livingston Ledger.

Hunter Holt, 8th grader, received 2nd place in the state 4H Communication Day.

LCMS is working to increase parent involvement. We listed multiple parent involvement opportunities in the student agenda.

LCMS appreciates the Central Office staff for recognizing our school and teacher accomplishments at the Opening Day ceremonies on August 6. We are proud of those who Live RED.

  • Having 100% participation in the TELL Survey
  • Having 100% ILP Student Completion and 100% ILP PARENT Review
  • Having the highest PD 360 Usage in the district at 66 hours of videos viewed
  • Sondra Lawton, Jan Strickland, Michele Powell& Teri walker were complimented by Jimmy Croft for giving up their planning daily to work with students in AC during the 2012-2013 school year.
  • Angie Freeman was recognized for volunteering her time to come in and work with Shannon Rushing to ease her transition into being the new school secretary. Parents have already sent e-mails praising her for being great to work with and pleasant.
  • DeeDee Henson was recognized for offering to help when she sees anyone in need, talking with students when the counselor is at NLES, volunteering for committees, always having a positive attitude.
  • Ann Travis was recognized for volunteering to sponsor the art club which helped increase school spirit. The art club painted uplifting quotes in Cardinal Room and helped with school décor. She did this ON HER OWN TIME and sometimes paid for with funds from her own pocket. She is an adult at LCMS with whom students choose to talk. She gives sound advice and checks back in with the students to ensure all is well.

As of August 6, LCMS enrollment is up to 199 students.

The LCMS Persistence to Graduation Report has improved and the students on the report as 7th graders were not on the report as 8th graders. LCMS teachers did well with mentoring and other programs to address the needs of these students.

Many LCMS students spent their summer decorating lockers. Check out our Facebook pictures. We have talent in design and creativity.

LCMS has 51 documented volunteer hours as of August 7, 2013, for the 2013-2014 school year.

LCMS attendance goal is 98% for the 2013-2014 school year.
