BTSR is one of America’s premier High-Adventure council camps. The camp is nationally recognized and fully accredited by the Boy Scouts of America. In operation since 1947, this beautiful ranch has met the needs of Scouts, Scouters, and their families for over 60 years.
BTSR is located in the middle of Little Aguja Canyon of the Davis Mountains. (The camp is accessed off of Ranch Road 1832, just in between FortDavis and Balmorhea, TX.) During the course of our 9 week camp, we serve over 3,500 youth and adult campers. There is a wide variety of traditional Scouting programs as well as some premier high adventure activities not found at many other camps. To operate this camp, we hire a camp staff of 75 young men and women from all over the state.
DATES OF OPERATION: Staff will arrive on June 5 for a week of pre-camp training and setup.

COMPENSATION
Staff members are provided food and housing as well as certain staff uniform items. Salaries range from $125-$300 weekly, depending on age, prior experience, and position. Some positions require certification by the NationalCampSchool, BSA, which is paid by the camp as part of your compensation.

Buffalo Trail Scout Ranch
In 2008 a new program was begun as a benefit to the hard working staff at Buffalo Trail Scout Ranch. The BTSR Staff Scholarship program awards funds that can be used when you enroll in a college or university of your choosing. For every summer of service to BTSR, $250 is earned towards this scholarship, and up to $1600 can be earned. Half of the award is given in the fall and the other half is given in the Spring, upon receipt of proof of enrollment.
