Midweek Action: The FA Cup once again took centre stage on Tuesday and Wednesday, with five more spots in the Preliminary round up for grabs.Hallen were one of those sides to secure the £2,250 prize after claiming a 1-0 win away at Longwell Green Sports, with Daryl Charman scoring the only goal of the game ten minutes from time. Hallen will now take on Bridport in the next round, after the Dorset side defeated Wellington 3-0 in their replay. With the fixture taking place at the home of Cullompton Rangers, a brace from Oscar Latas, plus a goal from Leighton Thomas helped Bridport book their spot in the next round. Willand Rovers also progressed after goals from Josh Searle, Luke Alden and Jed Harper-Penman fired them to a 3-0 win at home to Shepton Mallet. Keynsham came unstuck at home to Bodmin Town, eventually falling to a 3-1 defeat, but there was better news for Chipping Sodbury who knocked out Reading City following an extra-time victory. After falling behind in the first half, the Sods equalised soon after the break thanks to a spot kick from Liam Pullen, with Joe White then scoring early in the extra half-hour period to book a date with Easington Sports in the next round.

Premier Division:Callum Demkiv’s brace helped fire Westbury to a third straight league win, with their latest three points coming thanks to a 4-0 victory away at Brislington. Demkiv opened the scoring after 14 minutes, with the offseason signing then doubling his tally before Ricky Hulbert and Waleed Bakali completed the scoring during the second half. Bitton are another side to have won three from three in the league, with five different goalscorers finding the net during their 5-0 win at home to Hengrove Athletic. The home side produced a dominant first half, with Ibrahima Diallo, Kane Ingram and Mario Mateus each scoring, before Josh Egan and top scorer Ben Bament added further goals after the break. The third side currently sitting on nine points are Willand Rovers, with the Devon outfit defeating Chipping Sodbury Town 4-2 at Silver Street. Josh Searle and Luke Alden fired Rovers into a two-goal lead after just 21 minutes, only for Sodbury to fight back with George Box scoring twice to level things up soon after the break. It was then left to Angus Wilson to wrap things up for Willand, teaming up with Luke Mortimore to add their third, before firing home the fourth to complete a double of his own. Following promotion last season, Roman Glass St George have made an instant impact in the Premier Division. After taking four points from their opening two fixtures, the Glass added another win on Saturday afternoon with Ryan Radford scoring a second-half hat-trick to defeat Buckland Athletic 4-1.

Debutant Rick Davies fired the home side ahead, before Radford scored his first of the afternoon on the hour mark. Les Afful pulled a goal back from the spot, but that was as good as it got for Buckland, with Radford scoring twice in the final 25 minutes to complete his treble. Odd Down secured their first three points of the season, scoring a dramatic late winner to see off Wellington. Having gone ahead in the first half through Jake Elliot, Odd Down saw their lead disappear when Wellington equalised from the spot through Jack Bryant midway through the second half. With a draw seeming the likely result, the Bath side managed to capture the 2-1 win with Adnan Hiroli striking the stoppage time winner. There was a 6-0 win for Hallen away at Shortwood, with Aaron Anglin and Daryl Charman both scoring twice after George Binding and Kyle Thomas had fired the visitors ahead. Another side to win on their travels were Plymouth Parkway, with Jordan Trott and Adam Carter each scoring before the interval during a 2-0 triumph against Cribbs. Clevedon made it back-to-back league wins at the Hand Stadium where a solo effort from Jack Sell and a penalty from Alex Camm were enough to defeat Shepton Mallet 2-0. Harrison Kyte struck in the 89th minute to make it three draws on the bounce for Cadbury Heath, with their latest point coming away at Bridgwater Town who had gone ahead just prior to half-time through Jack Taylor. There points were also shared between Bridport and Bradford, with the visitors twice coming from behind to salvage a 2-2 draw at St Mary’s Field. Leighton Thomas’ opener was cancelled out by an Ashton Shanley free-kick, only for Mark Salter to then restore Bridport’s lead seven minutes before half-time. There was only one goal after the break, and it came from the spot with Bradford skipper Martin Lenihan converting the penalty following a foul on Jake Sloggett in the home side’s area.

First Division: Incredibly, Corsham Town are the only team who remain unbeaten in the First Division at this early stage in the season. The Wiltshire side now have seven points from their opening three league fixtures, after first half goals from Josh Bright and Jack Morris led them to a 2-0 win at home to Wincanton Town. After scoring as a substitute in his previous two performances, Harry Millar of Bishops Lydeard was handed a start against Bristol Telephones, well and truly justifying his selection with a match winning double in their 2-1 victory at home to Bristol Telephones.

Chard Town’s James Boyland scored twice in the final 20 minutes to hand early pacesetters Cheddar a 3-2 defeat at Bowdens Park. The Cheesemen made a near perfect start to the encounter when after just three minutes, home debutant Adam Wright broke the deadlock. Eight minutes later Chard got back on level terms through Ryan Parris, with Boyland then scoring his first of the afternoon to secure a 2-1 lead. Cheddar hit back ten minutes from time via the right foot of Stephen Pennington, but Boyland struck the fifth and final goal of the game to take all three points back to South Somerset. In a game dominated by red cards, Keynsham Town will have felt fortunate to secure a 1-1 draw at home to Welton Rovers. Having had a strong season in front of goal last season, Welton winger Chris Pile scored his first of this campaign from long range to give the away side a one-goal lead. Keynsham’s task then became even tougher when they were reduced to ten men, but they managed to salvage a point thanks to Lee Pitman’s equaliser, with both sides suffering a further dismissal in the closing stages. Devizes scored three times in the final 15 minutes to secure a 3-1 win away at Ashton & Backwell United. Having fallen behind to Paul Uppington’s opener, Devizes’ late salvo proved crucial, with Tom Slater’s solo effort followed by goals from Josh Brigham and Matt Swan to secure their second win of the campaign. Bishop Sutton now have nine points from a possible 12, after goals either side of the break from Jack Goddard and Kai Long led them to a 2-1 victory away at Calne Town. Another side to have impressed in the early weeks of the season are Warminster, and they made it three wins on the bounce with a 1-0 victory at home to Portishead Town. In South Gloucestershire, Oldland Abbotonians grabbed a share of the points after drawing 1-1 with Sherborne Town. The visitors went ahead just 20 minutes into the contest through Tim Trevett, with Oldland forward Liam Gale securing a draw for the O’s with his second-half leveller.Wells City overturned an early deficit to claim a 2-1 win away at Radstock Town. It took just five minutes for Sam Gregory to fire the home side ahead, but Wells managed to fight back with James Bayliss equalising midway through the first half, before Ryan Stiles smashed home the winner 15 minutes later. Longwell Green Sports claimed their first victory of the season, with Omar Simpson and Adam Young scoring at Shellards Road during their 2-1 win over Chippenham Park.
